I like reading on the iPad because I can read multiple formats and it's backlit so I can read at night without the light on.

As for traditional publishing vs. self publishing? That's a tougher call. I have a lot of friends who are going the self publishing route with varying levels of success. If I wrote YA I'd be a lot more tempted to go it on my own, but I haven't seen any break out successes in the middle grade realm. Maybe once more kids are actually using their e-readers that might change.Sherrie Petersenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11670339498152684137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2316104666482960522.post-49129305322860296032012-01-08T15:49:32.496-08:002012-01-08T15:49:32.496-08:00I still want to go the traditional route too. Even with e-readers, I still think (and hope) that books going the traditional route will be available for e-readers.

What an interesting way to review books have the judging between them.Jennifer Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02219388997277330690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2316104666482960522.post-7141461486652507322012-01-07T13:55:53.548-08:002012-01-07T13:55:53.548-08:00Don't have any real comment, besides: Welcome ...Don't have any real comment, besides: Welcome back.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14115085533635353291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2316104666482960522.post-76726137977624311802012-01-07T07:04:34.385-08:002012-01-07T07:04:34.385-08:00What a great idea! I would love to get my new release MG book on your list of possible titles :)

I never wanted to go indie with my MG novel, but this year I completely changed my tune. I have detailed reasons on a post in my blog. It's great to hear my target audience got Kindles from Santa this year :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2316104666482960522.post-41854463527757688982012-01-07T05:42:20.569-08:002012-01-07T05:42:20.569-08:00I don't own an e-reader though it's awesom...I don't own an e-reader though it's awesome more middle graders may. I'm still wanting to go the agent publisher route. I don't have the time to do all the marketing, etc. independent publishing requires.

Looking forward to your middle grade suggestions.Natalie Aguirrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03756087804171246660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2316104666482960522.post-75657467942812565132012-01-06T21:03:52.334-08:002012-01-06T21:03:52.334-08:00Welcome back, Brooke! So the future I thought was years away is here NOW! I will probably be the last person in America (well, besides the Amish) to own an e-reader.

Self-publishing? Still squeamish about that. And those big New York houses won't go down without a fight. I agree with Myrna. I still want (need?) an agent and an editor.

But watch for more changes in the publishing world. Amazon just bought out Marshall Cavendish at the end of 2011. I'm sure more pins will fall this year.Joanne R. I was wondering about whether or not there would be a market for MG novels as e-books. You just answered my question.
